The low down on oil

Did you know that we have over 500 oils? 500! It’s incredible! The mind boggles with this amount.  Before coming to work at the Kerfoot group, I could name about 5. Pitiful, I know, but using rapeseed in my cooking, neroli on my face and mixing almond with an essential oil was really my max.

But did you know that you can get cucumber seed oil, strawberry seed oil and even watermelon seed oil? The bottom line is, if it has a seed we probably have the oil.

What are all these

Our first ever Fair for Life Palm oil is here!

Our supply partners in Ecuador have now become the only palm producers in the world that are certified organic, RSPO and Fair for Life!

The producers are fully committed to the sustainable production of organic and fairly traded products. They collect, process and trade organic, fair-trade and sustainable palm oil, using only organic and sustainable production practices, which allows us to ensure a sustainable and reliable supply chain.

Apples, blackberries and cold pressed rapeseed oil = MUFFINS

On my drive home from work last night I was bursting with excitement for the evenings viewing of the only programme worth watching on the TV, ‘The Great British Bake Off’ (TGBBO). Although I would love to appear on the programme I am quite happy tinkering away at home baking all sorts for my willing tasters, my husband and my father.

I had decided it was going to be a kitchen first and was

Who spotted us at Old Goole Gala?

Well the weather over the weekend at the Old Goole Gala was mixed but it didn’t dampen everybody’s spirits!  We had a competition for those Kerfoot employees who were attending the Gala.

Have a photograph taken of yourself in front of a Kerfoot Group banner & win yourself a £25 TESCO voucher!

We made sure every entrant received a £10 voucher so there were no losers – we don’t like losing around here!

The Old Goole Gala is back!

The Kerfoot Group has always believed in the importance of supporting the communities that we work and live in.  We now employ more than 50 people across our three factories in Goole so are incredibly proud to be supporting The Old Goole Gala, this year at South Park in Old Goole from the evening of Friday 16 August to Sunday 18 August.

There has been a Gala during the summer in Old Goole for many years which was a highlight for many generations of the local families.  But sadly in

The Smelling Zone

The Kerfoot Group team thought they would get in touch with their senses and learn more about Kerfoot Speciality Oils. We converted one of the Chill-Out areas towards the back of the office at The Olive House into The Smelling Zone!

We displayed a collection of Essential Oils, Fragrances and other speciality products with a variety of odours and scents, for us all to look at and smell. The range of oils included some with very strong fragrances and others which were

Moringa Oil – Working with Local Communities

30 July 2013, Hannah Bangura, KSO Commercial Manager

The first shipment of Moringa Oil has arrived at the Kerfoot Group’s Goole facilities from our new Community Project in Rwanda. We are very excited to be able to supply this fantastic product and work with the farmers in Rwanda to help provide a better life for local communities.

Rwanda is probably most well-known for a period of ethnic violence in 1994 – the Rwandan Genocide. Here at the Kerfoot Group we are working with

The tale of the Black Soap in half a coconut

I have been referred to in the last week as the ‘rookie’ of the business and although I am not the latest addition to The Kerfoot Group team one of my colleagues still sees me as the ‘junior’. As I am just the wrong side of 29 I take this happily. With this ‘junior’ name you’d think that I get left with all the rubbish jobs but this one was not. Here is the tale of me and my bar of black soap in half a coconut…..

When Tom and Hannah recently returned from a Kerfoot
