What’s Your Flavour?

It’s time for the Kerfoot Speciality update and oil of the month!

Bonfire night has been and gone and Christmas is only around the corner. The weather is changing and there is nothing better than sitting in front of a roaring fire with a bowl of smokey roasted vegetables and a good Yorkshire cup of tea. This leads us nicely on to our flavour of the month!

UPDATE – 2 men, 1 small boat, 3,000 miles of rowing…

On Saturday 16th November Dan Howie and Will North left London to start their journey rowing across the Atlantic. With only 13 days left to go until departure day they are now in La Gomera preparing themselves and the boat for the epic challenge.

The Kerfoot Group are delighted to be sponsoring Will and Dan but also so proud that our finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil will be drunk on a daily basis by the boys! The ultimate fuel

The Kerfoot Racers

Here at the Kerfoot Packed Oils Factory in Goole, we have had a lot of new starters recently, so as supervisor I organised for the lads and ladies to go on a competitive team building exercise of Go Karting. On 3rd November we arrived at a warehouse in Pontefract ready to get this “Incredible” team building event on the go.

The racers (myself and 10 of our Production Operatives) were dressed to impress and ready for action! We did our qualifying laps and warmed the

Children in Need 2013 – Bare Faced Ladies and the Kerfoot Glamour Girls (or boys!)

It’s no secret that we are a charitable bunch here at The Kerfoot Group and we love nothing more than raising money for good causes, particularly as an excuse to eat cake and be a bit silly! So on Friday 15th November the whole team were thrilled to take part in Children in Need 2014.

There was plenty going on…It goes without saying that Mary (Berry) Robson, Group Receptionist baked one of her delicious cakes using Kerfoot Oils, in the shape of Pudsey Bear of course.

Cool Your Chips The Kerfoot Way!

As the Systems manager at the Kerfoot Group, I am always on the lookout for new and inventive ways to use the existing equipment that we have. And so when I read an article that combined vegetable oil and computing I was most intrigued.

“Computers? Oil? Crazy!” I hear you cry, well maybe not so….!

The background to this combination of Oil and computers stems from a challenge that has been faced for years with computers, heat dissipation. In order for modern computers to

Commercial Motor Live

As Logistics Manager for the Kerfoot Group, I was lucky enough to be invited to join one of our haulage partners, Abbey Logistics at Commercial Motor Live at Millbrook Proving Ground near Milton Keynes on 2nd October. One of the perks of the job I guess!
The ground was packed with all the main truck manufacturers exhibiting along with lots of companies offering support services to truck operators. There were also seminars to attend covering many truck-related subjects such as driving

Oils for Autumn

The leaves are falling and the weather is turning cooler. We’re digging out the scarves and woolly hats, in fact every member of staff at the Kerfoot Group has been given a branded beanie to get them through the Winter and keep all heads warm at upcoming bonfires and fireworks displays. There are plenty of oils that will keep you feeling warm and cosy in the cold weather and to compliment the rich autumnal colours of golden leaves and crisp blue sky.

The Omega Factor

Oil has been added to equine diets for hundreds of years & the benefits have always been unquestionable. In an increasingly competitive environment where horses are pushed to their limits, their nutrition must meet our demands. This means maintaining a balance of omega-3 & 6 fatty acids to achieve optimal health & condition. Modern cereal-based feeds have raised levels of omega-6 which must be stabilised by supplementing with a good quality source of omega-3 & one of the best

Magic Numbers

3 is a Magic Number sang de La Soul, so that got me thinking about other magic numbers, for we have associated numbers throughout history to things which have now become so interlinked that there is almost a magical connection. Other tunes with a number in the title include 99 Red balloons, 76 Trombones, When I’m 64… and some popular music combinations have a number in their name:
