Charity Bike Ride

Following on from the blog about our 12 hour Sponsored Bike ride in aid of the ‘Alzheimer’s Society’ charity on Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd April, here’s the news you’ve all ben waiting for………….the amount raised! The event was staged across all 3 of our sites, The Olive House in Northallerton, KPO Factory at James Street in Goole and the New Potter Grange road site where our KSO and KVO factories are based.
What an INCREDIBLE time we had. There was such a great atmosphere across all the sites. The Olive House in particular had a great competition going to see who could cycle the furthest in 30 minutes, some people really went for it and clocked up some kilometres as well as getting extra sponsorship from friends and family for this.
The first cyclist turned up at 6am at Olive House, getting ready to start their slot at 6:15 am and the last cyclist stopped peddling at 6:15pm.
In the group photo you can see the majority of the people who took part at The Olive House. The second picture is Andrew Darbyshire, KSO Sales Executive, who was really going for the furthest distance in this picture and the third picture is Nick Rice, Group Logistics Manager, who took part in the cycling at both Olive House and James Street.
At the KPO Factory the weather was so good they found a spot outside to place the bike as you can see in the fourth picture of Mandy Best, Operations Manager, who kept the event ticking over at our KPO Factory at James St in Goole. The final picture is of Davie Walker, Development Technologist, who is clearly admiring the view whilst keeping those pedals turning!
At out KSO & KVO site at New Potter Grange in Goole two of our renowned bakers, Justine Savage, Technical Associate, and Jared Netherwood, Technical Administrator, brought in some of their excellent cakes to sell and keep the cyclists energy up.
Across all the sites we raised a massive £392!!
A great day was had by all, thank you to everyone who put in time and effort to organising and take part in this great event.
