More for Macmillan in 2012
During the Christmas period we once again supported Macmillan nurses by having a coffee morning. We are incredibly lucky to have our tea and coffee provided to us so on Friday 14 December we asked all our employee’s to contribute £1 per cup, or negotiate a bulk deal for the day. In return we had the option of either a Mince pie, piece of Stollen, or German Ginger bites, all of which I managed to have donated by some very generous local supermarkets. There were so many we were able to involve all of those that work in our Packed Oils and Speciality Oils factories in Goole, helping us to raise even more money, spreading some festive cheer and expanding all our waist lines as well!
We also decided that rather than us all sending lots of Christmas cards to each other we would have one large card that everybody signed and donated £1 to the Macmillan fund, helping to save the planet as well as raise funds! Also in the Macmillan fund raising pack was a poster of a Christmas Tree and sticky baubles that you could write your Christmas message on for the price of £1 donation, so all those supporting Macmillan in our Goole factories could get involved and send their own Christmas message to their colleagues and friends.
In total we raised £95 to support this amazing charity that do so much to help those receiving treatment for cancer and their families and we look forward to more fund raising during 2013.
