Sleepout Update

You might have seen our recent blog on Sleeping Rough to raise money to provide temporary accommodation for homeless young people. We wanted to provide an update on these events, as the fundraising has been very successful.

2 charities organise regular “Sleepouts” in the Yorkshire area, SASH and YMCA. Thomas Kerfoot, Commercial Director here at The Kerfoot Group, has now completed two SASH Sleepouts, one in London and one in North Yorkshire. And this year The Kerfoot Group had another link to these events – Margaret Swann, the wife of Malcolm Swann, Production Operative, took part in a YMCA Sleepout in Goole, East Yorkshire.

This was the first YMCA Sleepout to take place in the Goole area and was incredibly successful, with 20 people taking part. The event was held in the grounds of Goole College and will return to the area each year as an annual event. The volunteers raised money through sponsorship and Margaret raised £45 in sponsorship from the staff at the Kerfoot Packed Oils Factory in Goole.

Along with the £100 cheque for the Northallerton SASH Sleepout, The Kerfoot Group has raised £145 for this very deserving cause, and we will no doubt be involved in future Sleepout events.
