FOSFA Middle Managers Course
The Kerfoot Group are thrilled to announce that Joanne Deighton, Trader for the Kerfoot Bulk Oils division has received the FOSFA special merit award following her attendance at this year’s prestigious middle managers course, held at the Royal Holloway University, London. The course was well attended, with 36 other managers from around the globe and was a result of her essay submission ‘Greater volumes of trade (oilseed, oils and fats) are supplied in the international trade by increasingly fewer suppliers. Is this a good thing for the trade and for the consumer?’. Following a diverse and interactive course ranging from; Global market outlooks, current maritime practice, arbitration & disputes and commodity analysis, Joanne placed third overall. A fantastic accomplishment and no mean feat with the high calibre of fellow attendees. As a result Joanne will be heading to the FOSFA headquarters, The Tallow Chandlers Hall in London to receive her award and be recognised by her industry peers later this year in October.
On receiving the award Joanne commented “Given my roles over the years, I have gained varied knowledge and awareness across several departments, from trading to logistics & operations, it is fantastic to get this recognition and I’m looking forward to attending the dinner I London and hopefully making a long weekend of it!”
