Have you tried Kerfoot’s African Black Soap yet?

African Black Soap originates from West Africa, where it has been used for centuries by Ghanaians to help with skin issues. Indigenous techniques of creating African Black Soap have been passed down from generation to generation to keep the natural black soaps close to Mother Nature.

African Black Soap is a natural source of vitamin A, vitamin E and iron. The soap is used all over the World, as it is said to help reduce acne, clear oily skin and blemishes, treat eczema and reduce body odour. It is an excellent natural soap for bathing, and has been used as a shampoo and is an effective make-up remover.

3 Interesting Facts about Kerfoot’s African Black Soap:

  • It is made with only natural ingredients (no caustic soda!!)! Very rare for soap

  • The main ingredient (60%) is hippo friendly organic fair-for-life Shea butter. This Shea butter comes from The Wechiau Community Hippo Sanctuary (WCHS), a unique community-based project which is focussed on protecting and preserving the wildlife and environment of a 40km stretch of the Black Volta River in Ghana’s Upper West Region. 5% of the organic premium on this Shea butter flows directly back to the Sanctuary Management Board, directly promoting the biodiversity of the Sanctuary. A 20% premium is paid to the 1,500 female collectors within the Sanctuary, improving their livelihoods and motivating them to keep the sanctuary organic and conserved.

  • The final soap noodles are produced by a Women’s cooperative in the North of Ghana, thereby empowering these women, providing an income and bettering the wider local communities.
