Description

The Logistics Planner will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all customer deliveries, ensuring optimised use of the Kerfoot Logistics fleet alongside third party hauliers, to ensure the efficient delivery of our oil throughout the UK and internationally. The Logistics Planner will be required to work alongside the Logistics and Planning Supervisor to monitor oil inventory levels and manage the planning of the inbound oil deliveries from UK and international suppliers to KFG storage facilities and factories. The Logistics Planner will work closely with the Commercial, Operations and Production divisions in order to optimise the daily, weekly and monthly delivery plans.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule and process deliveries nationally and internationally of bulk, IBC and palletised refined oils / specialty products through KFG Fleet and 3rd party logistics providers
  • Utilise routing and scheduling software to optimise efficiency for the KFG fleet
  • Optimise routes to maximise efficiency and drive down costs
  • Provide solutions and contingency plans for any delivery issues
  • Work closely with our 3PL providers to maximise performance, drive efficiency and highlight any decline in performance
  • Manage all activities associated with returnable transit packaging (IBC’s)
  • Communicate with Commercial, Operations and Production divisions to ensure plans are achievable
  • Process all relevant transport documents and dangerous goods documentation
  • Importing and exporting of goods and all related customs requirements
  • Raising of purchase orders for all 3rd party suppliers and checking them off against the supplier invoice
  • Inventory management
  • Tracking order patterns and highlighting any variances
  • Compiling and communicating weekly / monthly KPI reports
  • Investigate Logistics Division Non-Conformances and manage investigations through to resolution

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and Microsoft office
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across internal functions, customers and external providers
  • KPI driven with a proven track record of optimisation
  • Experience with continuous improvement
  • Previous experience in planning and coordinating deliveries using 3rd party haulage providers (international experience an advantage)
  • Experience within a multi drop logistics environment and utilisation of route planning & scheduling software packages would be advantageous
  • Experience with MRP systems / Logistics systems e.g. Paragon / Fleetboard advantageous
