Northallerton Jobs Fair

In our home town of Northallerton there are 2 major employers closing down; the local prison is closing and the Rural Payments Agency is relocating to York and Newcastle leaving hundreds of local people facing redundancy or relocation. A task force has been set up to support those entering the jobs market and the founder of The Kerfoot Group, David Kerfoot, is chairman of this Taskforce. The Taskforce’s aim is to connect local employers with those looking for jobs or setting up new

The Kerfoot Racers

Here at the Kerfoot Packed Oils Factory in Goole, we have had a lot of new starters recently, so as supervisor I organised for the lads and ladies to go on a competitive team building exercise of Go Karting. On 3rd November we arrived at a warehouse in Pontefract ready to get this “Incredible” team building event on the go.

The racers (myself and 10 of our Production Operatives) were dressed to impress and ready for action! We did our qualifying laps and warmed the

Magic Numbers

3 is a Magic Number sang de La Soul, so that got me thinking about other magic numbers, for we have associated numbers throughout history to things which have now become so interlinked that there is almost a magical connection. Other tunes with a number in the title include 99 Red balloons, 76 Trombones, When I’m 64… and some popular music combinations have a number in their name:

Who spotted us at Old Goole Gala?

Well the weather over the weekend at the Old Goole Gala was mixed but it didn’t dampen everybody’s spirits!  We had a competition for those Kerfoot employees who were attending the Gala.

Have a photograph taken of yourself in front of a Kerfoot Group banner & win yourself a £25 TESCO voucher!

We made sure every entrant received a £10 voucher so there were no losers – we don’t like losing around here!

The Old Goole Gala is back!

The Kerfoot Group has always believed in the importance of supporting the communities that we work and live in.  We now employ more than 50 people across our three factories in Goole so are incredibly proud to be supporting The Old Goole Gala, this year at South Park in Old Goole from the evening of Friday 16 August to Sunday 18 August.

There has been a Gala during the summer in Old Goole for many years which was a highlight for many generations of the local families.  But sadly in

Cycle To Work Scheme – “Vive le Peloton”

Here at the Kerfoot Group we love a healthy workforce so we encourage our employees to get plenty of exercise. We are also just a little bit excited about the world famous bike race, The Tour de France coming to our doorstep in Yorkshire for the Grand Depart in 2014. So the People Division have introduced a Cycle to Work scheme as a fantastic benefit for our staff to help them “get on their bikes”!

The Cycle to Work scheme is a government initiative which allows employees to

The return of the Shea Crusade…

Thomas & Hannah returned on a high this morning from an insightful and successful trip to Ghana.

The aim was to further understand the processes involved in the production of The Kerfoot Group Shea butter (refined, unrefined & Organic). The trip was truly inspiring for both and cemented our passion to push more Shea to market. The trip involved a number of extremely long road trips across some of the most remote parts of Ghana’ northern & western regions visiting the

Thirsk Race Day

You will remember last month when Summer arrived in Yorkshire on the 19th April, we all got even more excited than we had been while anticipating our Day at the Races – it actually might turn out to be a sunny day on Saturday 20th April!  How lucky we were to wake to a beautiful warm, sunny, still morning.  All the gorgeous hats could be worn without fear of them blowing away and all those beautiful shoes could replace the wellies we all thought we would be

End of an Era….Beginning of a New One!

The 28 March 2013 was a very important day for the Kerfoot Group. With a mixture of sadness & excitement David Kerfoot, our founder, handed the reins of Chief Executive to his daughter Jennifer.

After 33 years at the helm, David will now take a back seat as Chairman & allow Jennifer to steer the business towards the next 33 years…& beyond! David, along with his wife Elizabeth, founded the company in 1980. His passion, determination & willingness to take a risk have

Red Nose Day

The Kerfoot Group celebrated Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March in style!

At our Headquarters, The Olive House in Northallerton, our generous staff donated their spare change & raised a total of £58.81 for Comic Relief. The day’s activities included a Wear Red dress down day, a sweepstake & an amazing red nose cake by Mary “Berry” Robson, Group Receptionist.

Mary used Kerfoot Sunflower oil in her cake & it was so
