Community affairs
The Kerfoot Group is proud to support a number of invaluable community-based projects and charity fundraising activities. Here are just a few of the organisations that we have worked with during this year:

Pink was the colour of the day!

As October was Breast Cancer Awareness month The Kerfoot Group took the opportunity to wear their favourite pink clothes, pick an item on the washing line, wear wristbands & clear our their bras on Friday 28 October 2011! It was all in aid of Against Breast Cancer raising funds to support research into this illness, improving the detection and survival from breast cancer in women.
As well as everyone making a donation to wear something pink, the Washing Line competition was won by Crispin Donaldson with his tutu; he kindly donated his winnings back into the pot (but he kept the tutu to himself thankfully)! The box of pink wrist bands were also sold to Kerfoot Group employees, so pink really was the colour shortly before the Halloween Weekend at Kerfoot HQ!
Against Breast Cancer collect unwanted but wearable bras to send to Africa so The Kerfoot Group have set up an Against Breast Cancer bra bank at The Olive House. Mary Robson, Group Receptionist, is responsible for this collection & has so far filled one bin. Mary has had everyone digging to the bottom of their drawers, boys & girls, for those unwanted bras!
The Board of Directors were at an off-site on this day so although the office was lower in numbers plenty of fun was still had in aid of such an important cause to everyone across the Company, all of whom will unfortunately know of a lady or two who has been impacted by this awful illness.
The Kerfoot Group, across Goole & Northallerton, raised a total of £215 for Against Breast Cancer. Thank you very much to everyone for your continued support.

Kerfoot Group get drenched while golfing
The Kerfoot Group was one of the sponsors for the charity golf day in aid of the Pendragon Community Trust. The event took place at Romanby Golf Club at Northallerton and raised £4,300 for the good cause. As well as the main team event, there were various competitions and prizes. The event was followed by a dinner, presentation, auction and raffle.

Bedale Point-to-Point 2011
The Kerfoot Group were proud to have sponsored the Bedale Point-to-Point again this year, an event which they have been involved in for more than 15 years. Bedale Point-to-Point is a form of amateur horseracing over fences for hunting horses and is a popular sport here in Yorkshire. The event is held every year at Hornby Castle, this year on Sunday 10 April, with glorious blue skies and Yorkshire sunshine in abundance!
As well as sponsoring the Best Turned Out horse, The Kerfoot Group sponsored the third race and were delighted to award the trophy to Mr Broad, the owner of Brother Mark, and to his jockey Mr Roche. Hazel Smart, Group Logistics Coordinator and a great lover of point-to-point racing, presented the prizes on behalf of David and Elizabeth Kerfoot.
The Pendragon Community Trust aims to build or convert a property locally for severely multi-disabled people to create a better life for them. The aim is to provide very high quality care in an environment that will be stimulating.
Congratulations to Anthony Lawrence (Group Accountant) and Christine (driver Denys Kay's wife) for raising money for the Pendragon Community Trust this year. They both completed the Great North Run in very respectable times: Christine in 2 hours 55 mins and Anthony in 2 hours 36 mins.
