Wensleydale Wanders 2014

On Saturday 12th April
Team Kerfoot (Jennifer, Casper, Richard, Karlene, Dawn and her sister Andrea)
took part in the Wensleydale wander, a 12 or 22 mile event run by the
Wensleydale rotary club, in order to raise money for local charities. The route
departed from Leyburn and called at Preston-under-Scar,
Redmire, Bolton Hall (at this point the 12 mile walk returns to Leyburn), West
Witton, Middleham and the Gallops, East Witton and finally

From the office to the open roads

On Tuesday 28th January, I started my day very differently to the usual. I arrived at Olive House, our Northallerton Head Office at around 8.30am to change into my safety shoes & put on my hi-viz jacket. Today was the day I swapped the desk job to be a passenger with one of our fabulous Kerfoot HGV drivers. My teacher/guide for the day was Bob Grimston. After a quick photo & ensuring I got into the cab ok (as I was thinking HOW will I get up there?!) Bob talked me through what would

A tin of luminous spray paint, cool man and some rum punch

The clapped out minibus screeched to a noisy stop and Willies gold teeth glinted in the mid-day sun. It was like looking at a pot of gold.

‘Ok man, need a ride?’

‘Well yes do you know anywhere I can buy a tin of
spray paint?

‘Hanks shack man. Cool’

‘Can you take me there please?

‘Cool man’

Atlantic Row 2013

A year ago this month we were getting enthusiastic at the prospects of Dan Howie from Northallerton (and old school pal of Tom Kerfoot!) and London based Will North facing the challenge of their lives by competing in The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Rowing Race. Well  I’m here to tell you that THEY HAVE DONE IT!!

Goodbye to an old friend

Replacing anything is always a bitter sweet experience, wouldn’t you agree?

The Kerfoot Group Logistics team are saddened to finally say goodbye to ‘Zulu’. Our oldest vehicle has unfortunately reached its best before date after many thousands of miles service. From arriving at our doors in 2005 up to the present day, our trusted ZWU has served us well over the years and even those instances that frustrated us don’t seem too bad now…thanks to those rose coloured glasses. We

Cruftsmas

As well as food, we have another obsession at the Kerfoot Group, and that is our dogs! We are pretty much all dog mad here and so we just had to have a fun competition to celebrate Christmas, and we called it…Cruftsmas. We asked for photographs of pet pooches all dressed up in their most Christmassy outfits and accessories.

We had some fantastically cute and funny entries, everything from several dogs wearing antlers to a German Shepherd dressed as Father Christmas, complete with

The Kerfoot Group are great exhibitionists!

You would be excused for thinking that you are looking at a photograph of a very chic bar in the city – it’s actually a pic of The Kerfoot Group exhibition stand which was rolled out at the very busy In Cosmetics exhibition in Paris earlier this year, where a record number of visitors (nearly 10,000!) attended the 652 exhibitors ‘ stands.

It’s Incredible just how many oils we produce!

The HPCI Exhibition in Warsaw was busy and kept Josh and Maciej on their toes in

A helping hand from the Kerfoot Group to beat the cold and flu season

Now that’s its officially autumn…hello September 27th…the cold and flu season is fast approaching, and with no cure for the common cold happening any time soon we at the Kerfoot Group have some tips and tricks that may just help get you through it.

The Kerfoot Group supply a whole range of essential oils that have lots of cold and flu fighting properties. Sore throat? Instead of sucking on those sweets have you tried gargling Ginger or eucalyptus oil diluted in a cup

The low down on oil

Did you know that we have over 500 oils? 500! It’s incredible! The mind boggles with this amount.  Before coming to work at the Kerfoot group, I could name about 5. Pitiful, I know, but using rapeseed in my cooking, neroli on my face and mixing almond with an essential oil was really my max.

But did you know that you can get cucumber seed oil, strawberry seed oil and even watermelon seed oil? The bottom line is, if it has a seed we probably have the oil.

What are all these

“When the boat comes in…”

Ever wondered where we at The Kerfoot Group get most of our oil from?

Well perhaps surprisingly, the bulk of our edible oils arrive by ship into our terminal in Goole, UK.

This slick operation begins with our Trading Division purchasing oils many months in advance, allowing our Logistics Division ample opportunity to arrange delivery of up to 2500MT of oil in one ship.

The Technical Division then plan around the ‘Laycan’, usually a four day window when the boat is
