Core Responsibilities

 

Business Support & Challenge

  • Provision of regular insightful analysis on customer and category performance highlighting key risks or opportunities
  • Provide financial support and analysis on commercial opportunities presented by the commercial teams
  • Review product performance and opportunities for rationalisation

 

Information Provision

  • Provide relevant information and reporting to support the business needs, ensuring that there is value obtained from the information provided by inspiring others to make use of it
  • Support the creation of commercial budgets and forecasts, demonstrating and understanding of the key drivers to inform commercial decision making
  • Production of weekly and monthly sales reports
  • Provide control and governance with regard to rebates
  • Supporting the Finance Director to improve the impact and understanding of financial reporting on business performance
  • Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
  • Support with the implementation of a BI tool

 

Leadership

  • Act as a positive representative for Finance with business stakeholders
  • Act as a role model for other members of the finance team
  • Take a proactive approach in supporting staff development and performance
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the finance, commercial and supply chain teams
  • Facilitate collaboration between team members through sharing information, joint decision making and taking mutual responsibility for the work of the team involved

 

Other role responsibilities

  • Support the Commercial Director with financial information as required
  • Support the Finance Director with other ad-hoc duties
  • Contribute to ensuring fresh ideas and best practices are being brought to life within finance and the rest of the business to drive service, quality and efficiency 

 

Skills & Experience Required 

  • Candidates will be a part qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or be qualified by experience
  • Comfortable working in the detail with limited support
  • Tropos/CODA systems experience desirable but not a must
  • BI tool experience desirable
  • Be confident using MS excel
  • Be a strong communicator at all levels with the confidence to influence decisions and implement process changes
  • Action oriented
  • Proven track record in relationship building, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution
  • Strong judgement and problem solving skills
