• Running the day to day purchasing and stock control processes for a category within the division
• Liaising with suppliers, agreeing commercial terms, lead times and volumes
• Anticipate and communicate any potential risks to supply and delivery
• Maximising value in all KSO purchases, constantly reviewing sourcing options
• Responsible for communicating major cost changes to commercial colleagues within the business unit
• Developing new and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers to KSO, regularly assessing all the market information provided to ensure an extensive portfolio of data.
• Ensuring a strong working relationship with finance managing invoicing against order raising
• Focussed communication of useful market intel regarding category/suppliers/harvests/competitors etc
• Monitoring currency to optimise the timing of major container purchases
• Sourcing and approval of new suppliers for a variety of speciality oils
• Development and implementation of new products working closely with the Technical team
• Conduct supplier and commodity risk assessments developing robust contingency plans
• Analyse and process purchasing data
• Lead supplier negotiations
• Develop and secure supplier agreements
• Conduct regular reviews with key suppliers
• Align supplier portfolio to business commercial strategy


Minimum Degree level education
Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
Control and development of a supplier portfolio
Understanding of key financial accounting information
Excellent stakeholder management skills
Demonstrable influencing and negotiating skills
Commercial awareness
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Demonstrable background in negotiation and supplier agreements
Ability to develop relationships internally and externally
High attention to detail
Action oriented & able to deal with multiple relationships effectively
Creative thinker able to challenge established ways of doing things
Excellent networking, interpersonal & relationship building skills


CIPS qualified
Knowledge of speciality oils sourcing avenues
Understanding of the regulated environment & compliance needs
